Happy New Year!

Well, it is New Years Eve. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I was blessed to get to spend this Christmas with my husband and my families (mine and my husband's).

God truly has blessed me with an incredible family and circle of friends.

May God continue to shower me and my family in 2008 with His blessings.

For all of you that didn't get a Christmas card, here you go:

I hope that in the new year, I can continue to be with the ones I love, do things that make me happy and continue to grow in my faith. Happy 2008!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was!
I was able to get half of my Christmas cards done and lots of Christmas craft gifts finished. I made about 8 origami boxes. (check out kwerner's site for the instructions) I love them! They turned out so great. Some are going to be for gift cards and some are for the ladies I work with. I haven't decided what to fill them with yet. But hopefully something will come to me.

I've had a fairly busy day at work and my evening will be too. I've got to run by the post office after work and send some things off. I meant to grab one of my cards to see if I am going to need extra postage, but I completely forgot.

Bunco Christmas party is tonight. We are doing an ornament exchange. I can't wait to see what everyone brings. I wonder if we'll even roll the dice tonight! LOL!

I'll try and get some cards up tonight or in the morning.
Have a great night!

What a week!

Wow. Here it is the Friday before Thanksgiving. Time is flying by and I'm not sure any of us know how to stop it from speeding up..unfortunately. I guess we should just remind ourselves to always remember how precious time with family and friends is.

This past week, I was reminded of this.
My next door neighbor fell in the shower and broke his neck. He was paralyzed from the chest down. This was on Sat.Nov.3rd. While in the hospital, something happened(still not sure what) and he was placed on life support. He passed away on Fri.Nov.9th. Jim was an amazing man and friend. I miss seeing him sitting out on his carport with his wife..just enjoying life. Jim, I miss you. I wish that we could have sat and talked more. I know you had an incredible life and I know someday I'll get that chance again...to just sit and hear of all the wisdom you hold.

On Thurs.Nov.8th, my 2 cousins (Adam & Ashley) were in a car accident. Adam was fine, but Ashley had to be life-flighted to Louisville,KY. They live near Bowling Green, KY. She suffered a broken collarbone, broken pelvis and a small skull fracture on the base of her skull. It was a very scary couple of days for our family, but thankfully and by lots of prayers, she is on the road to recovery. They just recently moved her to a rehab center.

Life can change so fast. Sometimes too fast!

Now, on to better news....

I recently won a contest. I am the first Papertrey Ink Apprentice. Now I'm sure some of you are asking yourself..what the heck is that?
Well, Papertrey Ink (PTI) is a stamp company. I was introduced to the sets from a stamp swap (get-together in Nashville that I attended earlier in the year). They are clear stamps and so simple to use. I have a few of the sets and they are well-loved.
Anyway, back to the contest.
Nichole Heady(one of the 3 women who own PTI) is an amazing stamper/scrapper/crafty person! I read her blog everytime she updates. Check it out here.
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
She posted on Tuesday/Wednesday that she was offering an apprentice spot for her company.
This is straight from her website about the prize.
The winner will get to assist me in designing a stamp set which will be released during our February 15th, 2008 debut. We will have a concept meeting via phone or email, to discuss what types of things you would like included in the set, the theme of the images, or even any fonts you would like to see used.
-I will then design the set according to your specifications. You will be the FIRST to see the rough drafts & final copies! You will be involved in every step of the process!
-Your name will be included in the promotion & packaging of the stamp set!
-You will receive the first copy of the set, hot off the presses, before anyone else!

How cool is that??

She posted the questions on Splitcoaststampers.com.
If you are a scrapper/stamper, YOU MUST CHECK THIS WEBSITE OUT!

She posted the questions. I was lucky enough to answer (some) correctly and I won!

I've been trying to come up with ideas and I have a few pretty good ones.
I'll meet up or talk with her and we'll go over the ideas.
I'm just so excited for this to happen!

Look back soon. I'm going to begin posting pictures of my cards and crafts.

I decided to finally get a blog. A real blog with my name in the title. Not some page on Myspace or Xanga or facebook. Hopefully I'll keep this one updated more often than the others.

Have a great day!
